The Becky Robinson Award was initiated by Bruce and Kim Robsinson in memory of their daughter Becky who died in 1981 at the age of 5 months, a victim of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. In the fact that this little girl would not fulfill her parents dreams of a full and active sporting life, Bruce and Kim asked the club to allow them to start a new award in her memory. Becky Robinson Award recognises talented young female players that acheive in their own right as a developing junior, playing in a senior competition.
The Blake Family Award
This is a special junior award trophy for Services to Junior Basketball by a junior girl.
Margaret Blake first became involved in the junior girls basketball in 1971 and held many positions as roster secretary, secretary and vice president for the junior girls.
She was President of the Devonport Women’s Basketball Association in 1988 and 1989 and then secretary after that.
Margaret’s son Roger has coached many junior teams over the years and her daughter Linda played basketball, her husband Bob has also supported Devonport basketball and is still a keen spectator.
In 1991 Life membership was bestowed on Margaret for a very active 20 years of service.
The family set up the annual award to encourage junior girls to become more involved with the organising/running of the rosters not just the playing aspect.

Best Club member
Mr. Reg Hope was a patron of the Devonport Basketball Council form <DATE> to <DATE>.
In 1994 he set up the Patron’s for the best club member.
Being an MLC member, he was a very busy person, but still found time to support Devonport Basketball.
This Award acknowledges the appreciation of the council by a member who has shown support and dedication by contributing in many ways over a period of time.
